World champion Shericka Jackson will compete over 200m on April 27.
Jackson is the reigning world champion in the event, having successfully defended her title in Budapest in the second fastest time in history.
In doing so the Jamaican, also a double world medallist over 400m, ran the quickest time in over 30 years (21.41s). Only the legendary Florence Griffith-Joyner has run quicker and with Jackson having improved her personal best in each of the last three years, never has that mark looked more under threat.
The 29-year-old has won the past two 200m Diamond League titles, and is also the reigning champion over 100m, where she also boasts world silver.
Jackson is an Olympic champion thanks to her Tokyo 4x100m win but will be keen for a maiden individual crown in Paris, the Jamaican having emerged as the dominant force over the half-lap since the Toyko Olympics.
With a host of world-class names already announced, including Mutaz Barshim and Hamish Kerr in the high jump and Mondo Duplantis in the pole vault, Shanghai will be one not to miss for athletics fans across the globe.
