The Wanda Diamond League returned to the French capital on Sunday evening, delivering one of the standout meetings of the 2026 season as three Diamond League records fell in a spectacular display at Stade Charléty.
With the series reaching its halfway point, Paris produced world-leading performances, dramatic sprint battles and another reminder that the race for Diamond League glory is only getting more intense.
Swiss middle-distance star Audrey Werro produced the performance of the night in the women’s 800m. Running with confidence from the front, the 22-year-old surged clear in the closing stages to stop the clock at 1:53.80, setting a new Diamond League record and recording the third-fastest time in history. Her remarkable run moves her even closer to the long-standing world record and confirms her status as the athlete to beat this season.
Femke Broeders-Bol claimed second place with a personal best of 1:55.60, missing Shanghai Diamond League Tournament Director Ellen van Langen’s Dutch record by just 0.06 seconds while climbing to 24th on the world all-time rankings.

The records continued to tumble in the men’s 400m, where Botswana’s Busang Collen Kebinatshipi powered around the track in 43.54. His commanding victory erased the previous Diamond League best and further strengthened his credentials as one of the world’s premier one-lap runners.
Less than half an hour later, Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino added a third Diamond League record to the evening. The Dominican accelerated impressively off the final bend to clock a world-leading 48.48 in the women’s 400m, once again demonstrating why she remains the benchmark in the event.

The men’s 100m delivered one of the biggest surprises of the meeting. Trayvon Bromell handed Olympic champion Noah Lyles his first defeat of the season, storming to victory in 9.91 seconds. Lyles finished second, while Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs rounded out the podium with a season’s best.
In the pole vault, Mondo Duplantis once again thrilled the Paris crowd. The Swedish superstar cleared a meeting record of 6.13m before taking three ambitious attempts at a new world record height of 6.32m. Although the record remained intact, his winning performance extended his remarkable dominance in the event.

Elsewhere, Canada’s Marco Arop impressed in the men’s 800m with another authoritative victory, while Australia’s Cameron Myers produced a sensational national record to win a high-quality men’s 1500m. Britain’s Georgia Hunter Bell claimed the women’s 1500m in a season’s best performance, adding another highlight to an evening packed with fast times.
With record-breaking performances across the track and world-class competition in every discipline, Paris delivered another memorable chapter in the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season. Attention now turns to the next stop on the calendar. The sport’s biggest stars will continue their pursuit of Diamond League points in Eugene on July 4 as the momentum continues to build ahead of the season finale in Brussels.
