Olympic champion Grant Holloway will headline a star-studded field in the 110m hurdles at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Shanghai/Keqiao on 3 May.
Grant Holloway: "I am so excited that Shanghai is back on the calendar since last year as I can’t wait to experience the crowds and the roar of the stadium as we battle out who’s fastest over the hurdles!"
The 27-year-old is the leading sprint hurdler of his generation, having won three world outdoor titles, two world indoor titles and two Olympic medals: silver in Tokyo in 2021 and gold in Paris last year.
Holloway is the second fastest athlete in history in the 110m hurdles, his PB of 12.81 run at the US Olympic Trials in 2021, a time that’s behind only the world record of 12.80 held by Aries Merritt.
Holloway has not lost an indoor hurdles race in almost 11 years – since he was just 16 years old. The US superstar enjoyed a record-breaking collegiate career at the University of Florida, winning three NCAA hurdles titles indoors and three outdoors.
He won the first of his three 110m hurdles world titles in Doha in 2019 and followed it up with dominant wins in Oregon in 2022 and Budapest in 2023. In 2025, he will be targeting a fourth successive world outdoor title in Tokyo and Holloway will be keen to make a statement when he takes to the track against a world-class field in Shanghai/Keqiao on 3 May.
He enjoyed another stellar year in 2024, setting a 60m hurdles world record of 7.27 at the US Indoor Championships in February before taking gold at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow in March.
Outdoors, he maintained his dominance, producing an electrifying performance to win his second US 110m hurdles title in 12.86 before powering to Olympic gold in Paris in 12.99.
