Jessica Schilder Ready To Star In This Year’s Women’s Shot Put Competition.

After an impressive showing in Keqiao in 2025, Jessica Schilder is set to bring her power and consistency back to Shanghai to start her new Diamond League campaign. Last year, she finished 2nd behind Chase Jackson with a throw of 19.77, thrilling the crowd with a series of world-class throws that underlined her position among the very best in the world.

A Standout 2025 Season
The 2025 season has been another milestone year for Schilder. The Dutch record holder became the new World Champion at the World Athletics World Championships in Tokyo and finished the season on a high by winning the Wanda Diamond League final in Zurich with a 20.26m throw. She continued to demonstrate remarkable consistency beyond the 20-metre mark, reaffirming her status as a major contender at every championship she enters.

Ready for Shanghai
Shanghai has proven to be a stage where big performances happen, and Schilder’s return promises another high-level showdown in the women’s Shot Put. With momentum from a strong 2025 campaign, she arrives ready to challenge for top honours once again.

“I can´t wait to start my Diamond League season in Keqiao this year after such a special season last year. I look forward to return to China and specially to the Shanghai Diamond League to put on a great show together with the girls. I hope to see you all in the stadium on May 16!”
